My laurels ultimately go to Boden’s seductive, cheeky OrmindoThe Times, 28 Mar 2014
Not the least of the evening’s performances was the coming of age through politico-emotional stunting of Samuel Boden’s Boy and Young King. Dressed like a boy, he acted unerringly like one too: almost a Prince William, whilst Diana was still around, or shortly after. Ably assisted by his sister, Ocean Barrington-Cook (a mute role), the crown was, again if only in retrospect, his for the taking – once he had learned his deathly lessons.Seen and Heard International, 16 May 2018
Orphée, sung by Samuel Boden, is outstanding. His vocal colour, perfect diction and exceptional phrasing are spot on.Forum Opera (trans), 19 March 2015
Particularly impressive is the performance of the protagonist, the English tenor Samuel Boden. Singing with someone on your shoulders, blindfolded, running laps around the stage like a rabbit disappearing into an open grave: few opera singers could offer the same.Translated from the Twentsche Courant Tubantia, May 2015
Peter Hoare imposes a Mortimer of biting lines and vindictive force, which contrasts with the ethereal timbre of Samuel Boden, the heir.Toute la Culture, 3 June 2019
